While individual sports and activities help develop personal and physical skills, there is nothing like the interaction of team sports such as basketball, soccer and T-ball to develop cooperation, strategy and sportsmanship. YMCA sports leagues offer a low-pressure, high-participation opportunity to develop these skills. The “bench” is one position no one has to play at the Y.

What is Sudden Cardiac Arrest?
A Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) occurs when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating, cutting off blood flow to the brain and other vital organs. Sudden cardiac arrest is fatal if not treated immediately, most often by a defibrillator.

Dodgeball will be held in the Fall!
Fundamental Summer “Quick” Youth Basketball League
This Co-Ed league consists of 3 practices and 4 Saturdays of games. We maximize the positive effects of playing sports by emphasizing healthy competition, promoting teamwork and individual development.
Practices are Saturday, July 21, one of Tue/Wed/Thu July 24, 25 or 26, plus one of Tue/Wed/Thu July 31, August 1 or 2 for a TOTAL of THREE practices of 1 hour each. Games are July 28, August 4, 11 & 18. Games are scheduled on Saturdays between 9 am and 6 pm for 1 hour in length.
Youth Volleyball Clinic Series
July 24-27 (All Skill Levels ages 9 to 17)
This four-day clinic for beginner through intermediate players ages 9-17 designed to build and improve fundamental skills. Sign up by the clinic or all four for a discounted fee. The program will be led by Mineral Ridge’s Junior Varsity Coach, Nicole Luklan, as well as Varsity Players.
Registration deadline is Saturday, July 21.

Fundamental Skills Basketball Camp
July 30-August 3 (Boys & Girls ages 5-12)
This Camp has a positive and uptempo atmosphere in which to improve camper fundamentals while having fun and making new friends. Coaches will also help participants build confidence and stress good sportsmanship.
This camp offers a half-day (9 am-12 pm) or a full-day (9 am-4:30 pm) option and is suited for all skill levels.
Adult Golf League
This Tuesday league is held at the Mill Creek Golf Course. Entry Fee is $175 per team plus $15 per player. If a player is a YMCA member, the $15 fee is waived.
