While individual sports and activities help develop personal and physical skills, there is nothing like the interaction of team sports such as basketball, soccer and T-ball to develop cooperation, strategy and sportsmanship. YMCA sports leagues offer a low-pressure, high-participation opportunity to develop these skills. The “bench” is one position no one has to play at the Y.
Youth Leagues & Clinics
Jr Cavs Summer “Quick” Youth Basketball League
We are partnering with the 2016 NBA World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers’ Junior Cavs program that includes some great perks. This Co-Ed league consists of 2 practices and 4 Saturdays of games. We maximize the positive effects of playing sports by emphasizing healthy competition, promoting teamwork and individual development.
Practices are July 15 & 22. Games are July 29, August 5, 12 & 19. The registration deadline is Saturday, July 9. Practices and games are scheduled between 9 am and 5 pm for 1 hour in length.
Indoor Soccer League
August 26-October 7 (Boys & Girls ages 3 to 7) Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and shooting or have a chance to fine-tune their skills. The league promotes exercise through sport and social interaction.
Practices are August 26 & September 2. Games are September 9, 16, 23, 30 & October 7. Registration deadline is Saturday, August 19 at 4 pm. Practices and games are scheduled between 9 am and 3 pm for 1 hour in length.
