CHANGE
A LIFE
GIVE…

Because everyone belongs.

When you think of the Y, do you think of a gym and a pool? Maybe a place to work out? While the Y is certainly all of that, it’s more than you think. It’s a place where people of all socio-economic backgrounds, shapes and sizes, races, genders and faiths come together to share in programs and activities that build relationships, confidence, discipline, character and so much more.

Whether it’s parent and child bonding time in a swim lesson, a first grader learning about water safety, a fifth grader making friends in summer day camp, a health seeker accomplishing a weight loss goal or a cancer survivor bringing a new sense of normalcy after weeks of chemo, the Y is so much more to so many people. Your gift makes these programs possible to everyone who has the need but lacks the resources.

“I was looking for something that would try and lift myself out of the blasé life I was living. This was really the start of it. It’s impacted my family to the point where they say; ‘You’ve come back.”

Contributed dollars consistently fall short of the need. Each year, the number of requests exceeds the amount available. Yet no one who qualifies for financial assistance

for membership or program is turned away. Your gift in any amount helps offset the need.

  • $350 helps sponsor a membership for a deserving child for one year.
  • $600 supports a membership for an adult or senior citizen for one year.
  • $1000 supports a membership for a family for one year.
“I can’t help but smile when I hear the kids singing camp songs. It’s the first think Jackson talks about when he wakes up and it’s the last thing he talks about before he goes to bed. You are doing amazing work!”

More than 50% of the kids in summer camp qualify for financial assistance. Program fees alone cannot cover the need. These kids depend on the generosity of members in our community who care about impacting lives during the summer and throughout the year.

  • $160 sponsors a child for Day Camp for a week.
  • $40 sponsors a child for a week of enrichment camp
“I knew Type II Diabetes was just around the corner. My friend Pam, a YMCA employee, grabbed an info sheet and said, ‘You need this program.’ Thanks to a little discipline and a great support system at the Y, I knew I could do it.”

We want to reach as many individuals as possible in our community this year with the Diabetes Prevention Program and develop a referral network with healthcare providers who will direct at risk individuals to the program. We don’t want the fear of financial obligation to stop those who need it from participating. Your generous contribution will help keep that from happening.

  • $429 sponsors one individual for the 12-month program, yet any amount will help put this program within reach of those who need it.
“When you come to the Y, you see what you can do. Here, we can get away from always talking about cancer. We know what cancer does. I need somebody to laugh with, someone to move around with, be with; and that’s the big part of being at the Y.”

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is offered at no cost to participants. Yet there is a significant cost associated with offering the program and reaching out to the thousands of cancer survivors (they are survivors from the moment of diagnosis) who can benefit.

  • $500 sponsors one survivor.
  • $6000 sponsors a cohort of 12 for the duration of the program.
